“We are delighted to partner with Square Enix, a multi-billion dollar company synonymous with innovation in the gaming segment. This association perfectly aligns with our overall vision to expand our presence, both in India and globally,” said Rajan Navani, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, JetSynthesys. This marks the entry of Square Enix into the casual gaming segment in India. The partnership will build upon Square Enix’s gaming legacy along with JetSynthesys’ tech capabilities and local market knowledge. Square Enix holds intellectual property for popular global games like Final Fantasy, Tomb Raider and Space Invaders.
“India has always been a very important market for us. We are extremely delighted to start the pre-registrations for Ludo Zenith, followed by an official launch later partnered with JetSynthesys,” said Ryoma Matsui, Director, SQUARE ENIX India.
The game has been developed by the JetSynthesys team in India and Navani said that they would consider launching it in other markets at a later date. The immediate focus would be to launch the game, which brings in an element of strategy to Ludo, and strengthen it in India.
Casual gaming has emerged as one of the top three online gaming segments in the country, registering a sharp spike over the pandemic induced lockdown last year. The company is targeting the over 400 million Ludo users in the country, it said.
